| One in a monthly series of Reflection Days for 2008 St Francis of Assisi A Saint for our Time
|
Wednesday 8th October 2008
10.00 am (for a 10.30am start) - 4.30 p.m.
Venue: The Garden Room, St Cuthman’s
led by Neville Barrie
This Day of Reflection will offer an introduction to the life of St Francis and an opportunity to reflect prayerfully on his writings which have become so popular and relevant in today’s world, striking a chord with young and old alike.
Using the well known Canticle of Brother Sun as a framework for our day, we’ll examine both the ‘singer’, St Francis, and his song. There will be opportunities for prayer and, weather permitting, a guided walk in the extensive grounds.
Neville Barrie has worked with Arundel & Brighton parishes over many years through the Youth Service and with adult groups. Having worked alongside Franciscan communities and through his familiarity with Assisi, he has come to value the example left by Francis. Neville holds a BA (Hons) in Religious Education and is currently the Administrator at St Cuthman’s.
The cost for the day is £25 which includes all Refreshments, a Light Lunch and Afternoon Tea with Homemade Cake.
