Safe Recruitment of Volunteers
Parish Volunteers who work with vulnerable groups must be safely recruited according to National Procedures produced by The Catholic Office for The Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults (COPCA). These procedures apply to all Diocese in England and Wales. Safe Recruitment means that all volunteers who work with vulnerable groups must: - Complete an Application Form which includes the supply of two references.
- Complete a Confidential Declaration Form in which any past criminal convictions, cautions or involvement in care proceedings must be declared.
- Complete a Criminal Records Bureau Application which will be sent to the volunteers home address by the Child Protection Office.
- Meet with the Parish Child Protection Rep to have the back of the CRB Form completed and three original ID documents seen and photocopied.
