'How Can I Keep from Singing?' is a weekend conference at Worth Abbey from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July 2008 organised by the National Network of Pastoral Musicians. All are welcome. If you can’t come for the whole weekend, Saturday 19 July is an open day of workshops, worship and song.

The National Network of Pastoral Musicians was set up in July 1996. It is an informal group of people of many denominations whose aim is to meet to learn from each other and experience prayer and music in common. We are delighted to be at Worth Abbey, a place of prayer and welcome to all seekers for God. A range of workshops on music and worship has been planned, there will be times of prayer and song, and a keynote talk given by John Bell and Michael Joncas.

Workshops on the Saturday are as follows:-

• John BELL Sunday morning showers and weight-loss

• Michael JONCAS New music for the seasons

• Richard HUBBARD Ancient-Future Worship: Combining Old & New

• M.FOSTER / S. DEAN Ready for anything: the music store cupboard

• Andrew MARIES Singing the Lord's song in a strange land

• Margaret RIZZA Praying and Celebrating Through Music

• Gary O’NEILL Designing an Act of Worship

• Philip RODERICK Play in the Mystery: Drum and Chant

• Mag SHEPHERD In the beginning: The Words

• Chris WALKER How can I keep from singing?
