ASSOCIATION OF INTERCHURCH FAMILIES

Registered Charity No. 283811

Website: www.interchurchfamilies.org.uk

The Association is a voluntary organisation which assists couples and families where the marriage is between Christians of different denominations (and a substantial proportion of such marriages includes a Roman Catholic as one of the partners). It offers a support network for interchurch families and mixed marriages and a voice for such families in the churches, particularly at times when spouses' respective denominations may have different views on the acceptance of the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion.

BEGINNING EXPERIENCE

Over a residential weekend, the team, a group of specially trained volunteers who are themselves either widowed, divorced or separated, offer to others who have experienced the same trauma of losing their partner, a carefully structured programme which helps them to come to terms with their emotions of grief, bitterness, guilt, anger, to face up to the reality of their single-again state and reach the point of facing the future with confidence in themselves and faith in God. Weekends are held at "The Friars", Aylesford (Near Maidstone).
