Saturday 19th July 2008

10.00 am (for a 10.30am start) - 4.30 p.m.

venue: The Garden Room, St Cuthman’s

led by Denise Mitchell

Why justice for the earth? Because justice is about right relationships. Do we have the right relationship with the earth that God has created for us as our home?

The reflection day will cover three areas:

  • ‘Tenants and not owners’ (stewardship)

  • ‘Inheriting the earth’ (legacy to future generations)

  • ‘Lightening our footprints’ (lifestyle & living simply)

The aim of the day will be to consider these important issues through the lens of prayer and personal and group reflection. Not a lecture or a campaigning session. Nor a guilt trip, but rather an opportunity to place ourselves in the presence of God and honestly scrutinise our attitudes and lifestyle.

Denise Mitchell has over 25 years of working for international justice with CAFOD and has seen firsthand some of the impact of environmental degradation on the lives of poor communities in the developing world.

She has experience of leading groups and reflecting on a range of justice and development issues. Denise is the Director of St Cuthman’s.

The cost for the day is £25 which includes all Refreshments, a Light Lunch and Afternoon Tea with Homemade Cake.
