DBS 17 - Applicant consent for DBS processing
The DBS has made it a requirement for the Registered Body to obtain and record explicit confirmation from the applicant that:
•They agree to the Registered Body and its agents receiving an e-result and, if applicable, they are aware that the Registered Body and its agents will share this information with other parties involved in the recruitment process.
In addition, the applicant is asked:
•To consent to their application being processed online via a third-party data processor (eBulk applications only).
For eBulk applications, in obtaining consent applicants must positively opt in and agree to the Registered Body receiving the e-result. It is not acceptable to use pre-ticked boxes or any other method of default consent. The date that the consent was captured must also be recorded. If consent is not given, a paper application must be submitted.
