Bishop Richard Moth Offers Prayers for Finsbury Mosque
Bishop Richard Moth is asking the people of Arundel & Brighton to pray for those hurt and affected by the attack on Muslim worshippers at Finsbury mosque on Sunday evening.
"I wish to offer my support and prayers for all those affected by the attack on Finsbury mosque at the end of fasting during the muslim feast of Ramadan. This unprovoked attack was intended to injure and kill British Muslims as they went about their lawful business. I would wish, alongside Cardinal Vincent Nichols, to condemn this attack as strongly as possible and to ask all peoples to seek the way of peace and reconcilitation rather than violence and hatred.
Please remember at this time the Muslim community whom the Church says with us 'adore the one, merciful God' (Catechism of the Catholic Church 841) in your prayers during Masses during the week and at the weekend.
I pray for an end to such attacks in UK driven by whatever ideology and ask that it remains a safe place for all to live, worship and co-exist."
