First World Day of the Poor - Diocesan and Vatican Response
World Day of the Poor - Established by Pope Francis in Misericordia et misera (2016) the first World Day of the Poor is on Sunday 19 November, the 33rd Sunday of Ordinary Time as preparation for Solemnity of our Christ the King
Bishop Richard is celebrating Mass at a special event for young people (11-15 year olds) called HOPE 2017 at Arundel Cathedral on this day and this event will give those present the opportunity to reflect on how poverty is at the heart of the Gospel and that, as long as it exists, there can be no justice or social peace. This will include a performance by RISE Theatre will be at the Cathedral Centre in Arundel performing their critically acclaimed play about Oscar Romero. The performance starts at about 3.45pm and it's free to get in. Arundel Cathedral Centre this Sunday.
